Job fair today in Camden County - KABC

Posted: 13 Oct 2010 06:46 AM PDT

The Camden County Board of Freeholders is holding a job fair today with 100 employers on hand.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Collingswood Grand Ballroom.

Also featured will be representatives from the Camden County One-Stop Career Center, who can help you with tips on resume writing and job searches.

"We know in this economic downturn that many of our constituents are looking for work and can't find it," said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. in a statement. "This is a chance for the county to reach out and help bridge the gap between job seekers and employers."

The unemployment rate in Camden County currently sits at 10.5 percent, up from 10.2 percent in 2009 and 5.8 in 2008. The national average is 9.6 percent, according to data released in June by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Collingswood Grand Ballroom is located at 315 White Horse Pike, Collingswood.

A good tip is to dress for success and bring copies of your resume.
